As we move into fall, pumpkins and ghosts are popping up everywhere, but there’s more to celebrate in October than just Halloween. KOHC is excited to take part in recognizing October as National Dental Hygiene Month. This month is an opportunity to promote good dental hygiene for individuals of all ages and recognize the important role that dental hygienists play as part of the health team and community.

KOHC is celebrating National Dental Hygiene Month with a different topic each week:

October 4-8: Happy Dental Hygiene Month! Learn about the important role dental hygienists play by watching this video (en Español) from Jackline Coyle, a dental hygienist in Louisville, Kentucky.

October 11-15: Learn how the Smiles for Life Curriculum integrates oral health into health care

October 18-22: Dental hygiene tips and resources for at-home care and an updated infographic about returning to the dental office

October 25-29: Hear from current dental hygienists around the state featured on our blog

Follow along with us throughout the entire month of October by viewing our new content each week and sharing with your networks. We can all help spread awareness about the importance of dental hygiene this month. The fun doesn’t end on October 31st, remember to join us in celebrating National Brush Day on November 1st!
