April is Child Abuse Prevention Month! This year KOHC is once again partnering with the Face It Movement to build awareness and connection among oral health professionals, advocates, families, and community members to help prevent child abuse.
Here is a sampling of the many ways you can help keep kids safe:
- Share the downloadable Child Abuse Prevention Toolkit for Health Professionals with your staff. It offers information and resources – with a section specific to oral health professionals – to engage families and help prevent, recognize, and report child abuse.
- Order free Face It materials to distribute to families, community members, and professionals
- Reach out to parents and caregivers to offer a helping hand or words of encouragement
- Attend Face It and community partner events and trainings beginning with kickoff events this week and continuing throughout the month of April
Your involvement in Child Abuse Prevention Month is important and appreciated! Visit the Face It website to learn more.
